Attributes:HOFPortrait
The most famous and valuable card in the hobby - the 'Holy Grail.' Honus Wagner had the American Tobacco Company pull his card early in production (whether because he objected to his image selling cigarettes or over a compensation dispute is still debated), so very few were ever distributed. Found only with the Piedmont 150 and Sweet Caporal 150 backs.
Confirmed with 3 of 40 backs. Which ones, and what is known about the rest, is below.
- 3 confirmed
- 1 possible
- 8 probably not printed
- 28 not printed
All 40 backs are listed, including those this subject was never printed with — a back that cannot exist is shown as such rather than left out, which is the difference between “no” and “nobody checked”.
